WHAT IS KOF?

In the 1990s, the world was in the middle of a fighting game boom. The excitement peaked in 1994, when "The King of Fighters '94" released in arcades. It was the first entry in the record-breaking, long-running hit series, the King of Fighters (KOF). In the games, the martial arts tournament "The King of Fighters" welcomes characters from popular SNK titles such as "Fatal Fury," "Art of Fighting," "Ikari Warriors," and "Psycho Soldier." With such popular characters reaching beyond their own titles to fight in teams of three, it was an all-star dream-team matchup that set the excitement of game fans across the country ablaze. 1995 saw the release of "KOF '95," which kept the series' 3-on-3 format but allowed players to choose their own sets of three fighters. With the addition of protagonist Kyo Kusanagi's rival Iori Yagami, the series's popularity was secured, becoming synonymous with SNK.

Enter commands with inputs like Light Punch and Heavy Kick to defeat your opponent in the one-on-one Battle Phase! Chain inputs correctly to unleash powerful Special Moves and Super Special Moves! Take down big prey in the Hunting Phase to get advantages in the Battle Phase!

HUNTING PHASE

Head for the goal hidden in the zone! Defeat as many enemies as possible within a time limit to collect Battlecores! Battlecores will become powerful buffs for your fighters in the Battle Phase!

MEMBER SELECT

Choose which fighters will take part in the Battle Phase! Choose wisely based on the Battlecores you secured in the field! You can choose both Story Characters and Symphony Characters!

BATTLE PHASE

Build a team of 3 to take on opponents in 1-on-1 matches! Fill up the MAX Gauge, enter inputs in MAX MODE, and unleash devastating combos of Special Moves!
